paris || desserts in the city of lights part I
1. Maison Laduree/ Laduree Le Bar
Probably one of our most favorite place to go for dessert at night in Paris is the Laduree Le Bar at Champs-Elysees. We love the ambiance, which has a modern and elegant vibe. Being there feels like you are actually at a bar, but instead of sipping on alcohol, you're enjoying desserts. Not a bad thing right?
We would recommend trying the Marie Antoinette (tea), chocolat chaud (hot chocolate), Verrine Plaisir Sucre (gianduja praline - we still could not forget how good this dessert was), and the Ispahan (rose flavored macaron with rose petal cream, lychee and raspberries). They were all très bien!

2. La Patisserie Des Reves by Philippe Conticini
The desserts in this patisserie are displayed in very elegant and unique cloches. We can't even describe how beautiful this shop is so we'll let the pictures do justice.
We tried their brioche, which we really did not care for (the one we've tried was a littly dry), and a sampler box of different petit-fours:lemon tart, apple tart, chocolate tart, and the mini gran cru vanilla cake. Everything in the sampler box was really good. Our favorite part was that sable breton base for the tartlettes. They were oh so buttery!

3. Pierre Herme
This is our favorite place to go to for a macaron fix! The flavors of their fillings are very unique and the macaron shells are perfectly crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. If you are in Paris, this shop is a must visit because Pierre Herme is probably the master when it comes to making French macarons. We can't wait to visit over and over again!

4. Maison Georges Larnicol MOF
This is the shop where we experienced the super buttery and very flaky kouignettes or kouign ammans. We tasted both the almond and pistachio flavors and we must say that their crusts are perfecly caramelized and the flavors are on point!

5. Maison du Chocolat
If you're addicted to all things chocolate, this is the patisserie for you. They make everything chocolate you can imagine from pastries, cakes, truffles, diamants, chocolate bars, dragees, etc. Everything is screaming CHOCOLAAAAT!!! Our favorite pastry from this shop was their eclair au chocolat.
